This is my first blog and it is my attempt to take more notice of the world around me. I plan to take a photo a day for 356 days, hopefully it will show that there are interesting things happening around me, and that my life isn't too dull!

Wish me luck.

You may not believe it, but this picture is of Newton Faulkner (i borrowed my daughters camera but hadn't thought to ask how to use the zoom, and trying to figure it out in a very dark and crowded venue is not a good idea). My partner and i went to see him at the Assembley Rooms in Leamington Spa, however, the odds were against us. Between my partner and i trying to do far too many tasks before heading out, we ended up being late. Then, half way there the car ran out of petrol! Thankfully a really kind chap pulled over and asked if we needed any help, he then went off to get some petrol so that we could at least make it to the petrol station. Newton Faulkner was due to be on stage at 9 and this was ten to. Thankfully, because of the help we recieved from the passinging driver we were able to make it before he came on stage.

I have to say that i haven't really followed Newton Faulkner, and although i have downloaded a couple of his songs, i have only heard him in interview on Radio 1. He seemed genuine, and very funny, so i bought the tickets. I would have been happy just to hear him sing Tear Drop, as his cover is fantastic, but his live performance was amazing, he has the most fantastic voice, and i have never seen anyone use a guitar in the way he does. I will definately go and see him again, and would reccommed seeing him to anyone else.
