This is my first blog and it is my attempt to take more notice of the world around me. I plan to take a photo a day for 356 days, hopefully it will show that there are interesting things happening around me, and that my life isn't too dull!

Wish me luck.

These are the tombs of Caunos, and they were chiselled into the rocks for nobelmen, and it is thought, the richer you were the highter your tomb would be, and the closer you would be to the gods. To see the tombs were took a boat as this is the only way to get to them, the boat paused briefly while Yusuf (the same tour guide as we had for Ephesus) spoke about the tombs and their history. It was absolutely amazing being so close to something so ancient, i would love to have explored the area, but that was another excursion and this was our last day in Turkey.

The boat trip carried on to Dalyan Beach, a protected area where loggerhead turtles breed. You can only get to the beach by boat and it is closed betweem 8pm and 8am. Apparently David Attenborough was involved with ensuring the area became a protected site.
