This is my first blog and it is my attempt to take more notice of the world around me. I plan to take a photo a day for 356 days, hopefully it will show that there are interesting things happening around me, and that my life isn't too dull!

Wish me luck.

This variety of apple must must have been the inspiration for the poison apple in the Disney adaptation of Cinderella, and seeing it this close, i can understand the tempation to eat it. This particular apple seemed to have a will to live as long as possible as most of the other apples on the tree had fallen off, which made this apple stand out all the more.

Jephson Gardens is a local park that runs along side the River Leam. It is a maintained park with lots of flower beds, trees, benches, ducks, squirrels and all sort of other wildlife. It is a really pretty place to walk through, and there is always something new to see. The fountains in the photo are in the park and add an extra element to the area.

The hosta outside my front door is a haven for rain drops. When i took this photograph, it had stopped raining, but there were some huge droplets left behind. If you look closely enough you can see some silver in some of them, is this why we are told every cloud has a silver lining, instead of gold?

Spider webs are everywhere, but you don't often notice them unless there are dew drops or frost on them. This web was quite a big one, and looked amazing with the droplets on it. Thankfully there was no spider anywhere to me seen!

There seem to be toadstools of all shapes and sizes around at the moment, this cluster was on the grass area outside the front of my house. Is it just me or is there something magical about toadstools?

I don't see that many rainbows, but when i do i am, unfortunately driving. Anyway, what i didn't know was that one of my neighbours owns a pot of gold (which as everyone knows is at the end of a rainbow), and it must have been their turn to open it! Ok, maybe i am stretching the bounds of truth a little bit, but if you look at the angle of the rainbow, it clearly looks like it is coming from their back garden, so what else was i to think?!
