This is my first blog and it is my attempt to take more notice of the world around me. I plan to take a photo a day for 356 days, hopefully it will show that there are interesting things happening around me, and that my life isn't too dull!

Wish me luck.

i've just this plant back time and time again, but it continues to come back, the problem is that although it has fantastic foliage, it is constantly covered in bugs as as i am trying not to use chemicals, i am still undecided as to the fate of this plant.

This building is situated in Jephson Park, Leamington Spa, and reminds me of a children's programme that was on some years ago called the Book Tower, and featured Tom Baker. I'm sure this doesn't look anything like the building in the programme, but there is just something about it.

Blossoms aren't around for very long, but they make an area look so different while they are.

25 March 2011

They are EVERYWHERE!

24 March 2011

It is my eldest daughter's 21st birthday today and we are heading down to see her. There is a lack of presents, but when a gap year to New Zealand is in the near future, the money she would have recieved for her birthday is going towards funding her trip instead.

The sun is out and the flowers are beginning to bloom. I'm not sure if these little blue flowers are technically weeds, but one person's weed is another person's weed.

22 March 2011

My first batch of seeds have taken. These are cosmos seedlings and with any luck they will survive my care and make it to the garden.

21 March 2011

This is one of the many roads in Leamington that is really nice to walk or drive down, it is also a very expensive road to live on, you either need a very big lottery win, or come from old money, unfortunately i have neither, not that i am complaining.

20 March 2011

There are a number of daffodils inthe garden, to feeling Spring like i decided to cut some and but them in a vase.

19 March 2011

You can't tell from this photograph, but this is the biggest moon we have seen since 1993, some people are calling it a Supermoon. In reality it looked much closer than this picture shows and was amazing.

18 March 2011

This is the elusive robin, but this time i was quick enough to get a close up of him, it is just a shame he was facing the other way!

17 March 2011

The first daffodil to flower in my back garden. Originally i was going to remove all the daffodils, but i think i might keep a few of them (not too many thought!).

16 March 2011

There is something haunting about the way this tree looks in this light, or maybe i have watched far too many Tim Burton films.

15 March 2011

There is always something about pine cones.

14 March 2011

This was bought i a sale, and slides around my finger constantly, but it matches my owl necklaces perfectly. I recieve nice comments about it all the time, so well worth the money.

13 March 2011

Unfortunately, these doughnuts are not nearly as nice as they look, i'd have a proper jam doughnut any day!

12 March 2011

This is a statue of Ramesses the second, one of the greatest pharoahs of Egypt, at least that it what the plaque under the statue says. It is part of an exhibition at the British Museum a friend and i went to, the statue is amazing along with all the other exhibits, well worth a visit.

11 March 2011

Meet Wee Ninja, he goes everywhere with my daughter and protects her if she is ever in danger.

10 March 2011

This is the first bumble bee i have seen this year.

9 March 2011

I'm not sure how, in fact that is an understatement, but somehow this cup, available at Staffordshire University helps to lock in over 500 tonnes of carbon each year. You learn something new every day!

8 March 2011

It is amazing what you find when you start to clear an overgrown garden, here is an old rabbit hole.

7 March 2011

I'm not the biggest fan of daffodils, but when they are all together in a big tub, i can't help but be impressed.
